Rumen Zhekov artist

Rumen Zhekov works in the field of painting, drawing, photography, performance, installation, object. Aesthetically, he chooses minimalism and creates his recognizable abstract imagery, sparing and clear of details, but emotionally impactful. Assoc. Prof. Rumen Zhekov was born on March 1, 1960 in the town of Haskovo. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts – Sofia, majoring in Painting with Prof. Petar Mihailov – 1988. Since 1989 he has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and the group He is a member of the group “Disco 95” and the Association “Art Today”. Chairman of the Association of Artists “Philippopolis”. He has 35 solo exhibitions and over 200 participations in group projects and representative exhibitions in the country and abroad. He has participated in over 50 plein airs and symposiums at home and abroad He is the author of 7 curatorial projects.
